Baheya Institution, for early detection and treatment of breast cancer, has received three ISO certifications for management, environment, occupational health and safety

Baheya received the ISO 9001 for a quality management system, the ISO 14001 for environmental management, and the ISO 45001for occupational health and safety management systems. The certifications were granted by Engineer Othman Mohamed Othman, Chairman of the Near East Services Company (NES), which represents the European Certification Authority (EuroCert) – the body responsible for awarding certificates of conformity with International Standards in Management Systems (ISO) in Egypt and Europe.

Baheya has obtained the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certificate, which highlights the importance of implementing all operational processes taking into account environmental impacts, and minimising negative impacts at all stages of operation.

Mohamed Omara, executive director of Baheya Hospital, said that obtaining an ISO certificate in a number of fields gives Baheya a global dimension, which opens the way for opportunities for rapprochement and partnerships with similar institutions in the same field of work globally, which, eventually, falls to benefit the institution in Egypt.

“The ISO Certification also allows us to make optimal use of our financial and human resources. Obtaining the ISO is only a step as it means we have to do more effort to improve the hospital’s administrative system, and to make the right decisions for the health and safety of employees and patients,” he added.
