Honeywell introduces flame detection sensors

Fire Safety

Honeywell has launched the FSL100 group of flame detectors offering hazardous-area certified, accurate and reliable flame detection

They are available with different sensing technologies for different fire types and are Zone 2 certified and EN 54-10 compliant.

FSL100 flame detectors use sophisticated sensing technology with a high speed of response to ensure that a fire is detected as quickly as possible. Robust design and electronic algorithms make the FSL100 range highly immune to other light or heat sources, helping to avoid nuisance alarms. With a good distance range and wide field of view, FSL100 Flame Detectors provide optimum detection coverage.

Offering easy installation, robust construction and multiple detection methods, FSL100 offers a simple flame detection solution that provides confidence to safety managers that their sites are protected.

Honeywell’s unique field test lamp allows users to remotely test and communicate with FSL100 flame detectors from up to four metres away, eliminating the need to take extra time to climb a ladder when testing the device.

Different sensing devices give users the ability to select the optimum detector depending on the expected fire type and the environment. Whether there might be a clean hydrocarbon-based fire or a dirty smoky environment, different options of detection technologies enable the correct solution to increase safety on site.

Steve Forrest, global marketing director, Honeywell Industrial Safety, said, “FSL100 flame detectors provide unmatched reliability, are easy to use and can operate in hazardous environments — ensuring a simple but comprehensive solution to enhance site safety.”

The detectors are small, lightweight and easy to install and are available in either a red or a white housing. Test lamps are available for the complete FSL100 range.
