Human safety is topmost priority, says Salama Preventive Training Institute

Khalid Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, chairman of the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, stressed the utmost importance of preventive training, noting that, “The launch of the Salama Preventive Training Institute aims to meet the need for quality training, which is a necessity for workplace safety and one of the most important provisions to prevent accidents at work.

“The initiative follows the directive of Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, member of the supreme council and ruler of Sharjah, to consider ‘human safety’ as the topmost priority.

“We are confident that Salama provides the foundation for workers to develop a culture of behavioural safety by taking preventive measures that safeguard their safety and their lives, in line with our vision to achieve a safe and risk-free society and our mission to enhance the quality of life based on the highest standards of safety and prevention, with the ultimate goal of preserving life and property in the emirate.”

Al Qasimi spoke during the inauguration of the Salama Preventive Training Institute, an institution run by the Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority (SPSA) and managed by Saned.

Mahra Alshehhi, prevention training institute acting manager and Salama project manager, SPSA, said, “Using simplified methods, our training programmes are focused on exceptional occupational safety practices, enhanced individual and community awareness, and accident prevention delivered in different languages by our team of qualified trainers.”

Sultan Al Ketbi, CEO, Saned added, “We use an integrated mechanism in our training programmes to ensure that organisations incorporate effective preventive and proactive measures into their respective processes to eliminate accidents in the workplace.”

“We at Salama will continue to establish a culture of observing the highest level of occupational safety and accident prevention measures in the local public and private sectors. This is in line with the ongoing national efforts protecting all workers as one of the UAE government’s national priorities and as part of the country’s moral duty,” he concluded.
